Illiterate, a book of lists and little more

This book is desperately in need of several things. First, the services of a capable editor would have been a good idea. Not only is the use of language clumsy, it reads as though written by someone for whom English is not a native language. Grammatical errors abound, syntax is awkward, and word use peculiar at best. There are sentences where words are obviously missing altogether. According to the author's bio, he is a PA resident and blogger, both of which make this reader shake her head in amazement. No wonder the state of language is so sad in this country.

Now, as for content, on numerous occasions the author warns to find out about safety of certain ingredients, but never once offers readers sources of information about those safety concerns. His odd language use also results in mis-information and mis-categorization of certain ingredients.

The balance of the book is simply lists of oil combinations with peculiar titles like Teen Love. It is not a particularly creative or well done volume, which makes me grateful I did not pay for it. It's not of any real fiscal value. A person truly interested in learning to blend his or her own fragrances would do just as well, if not better, spending five minutes doing some internet research.

I love great smelling fragrances and have spent a lot of money over the years on perfumes and body sprays ... I never entertained the thought of making the product myself, until I read this book. I found Chapter 1, "The Brief History of Perfume", very interesting as well as Chapter 7, "Creating Aromatherapy Perfumes". The author includes easy to follow recipes for many different types of fragrances ... floral scents, fruity scents, and oriental scents. Packed full of great information on the subject of making your own perfumes at home, this book will be a great addition to any "how to" library.

A very good way to give sufficient description on how to get started on perfume making for people who wants to have an idea on how fragrances are made step by step. I have made a couple of fragrances using this book as a guideline and it came out just the way I wanted. It's a simple book but yet a sophisticated work from the author.

What a way to spend the holidays

Paisley Meadows meets Christopher as she is leaving her Aunt's place in Peoria and heading to the airport to fly back home. Theres an instant attraction but she's leaving and hoping to make it home for Christmas, I think Santa's elves had other ideas for her. Not only is Paisley and Chris on the same flight to Chicago but it's cancelled due to the weather...so whats left to do? Get a hotel room...Now were talking!
You know when you pick up a book by Tara Crescent it's going to be HOT and this was no exception. While this book was a quick read it didn't leave you wanting at all it was HOT, HOT, HOT. I would love to get a peek at Paisley and Chris at New Years and maybe again on Valentine's Day, Can I put in an order for every holiday?

Loved A very paisley Christmas!

I was given this book in exchange for a fair review.
I really liked this story, Paisley was so cute a and I liked the way that after such a short time she felt empowered enough with Christopher to be herself for the first time. I wish that it had been a little longer but you never know with Tara, maybe we will get lucky and she was trying to test the waters to see if we would be begging for more of their story.
I would love to read a full story of if and how this relationship takes place, shapes and grows as it was super cute and had alot of potential to grow into a very Hot novel. hopefully with a HEA! More please!!

The Fixer (1966) is Bernard Malamud's best-known and most acclaimed novel -- one that makes manifest his roots in Russian fiction, especially that of Isaac Babel.

Set in Kiev in 1911 during a period of heightened anti-Semitism, the novel tells the story of Yakov Bok, a Jewish handyman blamed for the brutal murder of a young Russian boy. Bok leaves his village to try his luck in Kiev, and after denying his Jewish identity, finds himself working for a member of the anti-Semitic Black Hundreds Society. When the boy is found nearly drained of blood in a cave, the Black Hundreds accuse the Jews of ritual murder. Arrested and imprisoned, Bok refuses to confess to a crime that he did not commit.

I won't say this is the best written book I've ever read, but it's good. I won't say it has the most gripping narrative and characters, but they are enough to keep you turning the pages. The book is however one of the more enlightening into the fears, weaknesses and errors of men.

Dostoyevskian darkness ... and every bit as brilliant

This is one tough novel to put down and/or not be affected by. An unfortunate irony exists between Malamud and Dostoyevsky (the latter being anti-Semitic himself), but their brilliance as writers and portrayers of the dark, the unjust and the shameful couldn't be more alike. While The Assistant remains my favorite Malamud (because, I think, I first read it very young and it had an impact on me then) The Fixer is a colossal literary achievement.

Sheralyn develops the story nicely - it’s humiliating, frustrating, and extraordinarily erotic.

I have to admit, while this came highly recommended to me by one of our featured female masking authors, Sheralyn and I got off to a rocky start. The truth is, the book could use one more round of editing to deal with the spelling errors, misplaced words, and repeated sentence fragments. Fortunately, I was able to look past them, and I must say the overall story is more than enjoyable enough to warrant the extra effort.

Boy in a Dolls' House is the story of a rude, lazy, young man. He has no friends, no job, and (once his mother passes away), no life outside his Aunt’s home. He’s cold and abrupt to the woman who so graciously took him in, has no respect for her or her doll collection, and refuses to do anything to help out around the house or the museum. If there’s ever been a boy in need of correction, this is it, but it’s not until he breaks an irreplaceable doll that his Aunt comes up with a suitable punishment. With the help of some drugs she’s developed as part of her work researching suspended animation, Richard is going to become a living doll.

As much as I disliked Richard, I appreciated the way Sheralyn slowly established his love for all things frilly and feminine. He denies it, even to himself, but his erections keep giving him away. Forcing him to become a doll is an exquisite punishment, as it leaves him immobile and unable to speak, yet incredibly sensitive to the feel of panties, petticoats, and dresses. He may not be able to move, but his erection can, leaving him not just tormented by the public humiliation, but eternally sexually frustrated.

Sheralyn develops the story nicely, with Richard’s Aunt and lesbian lover conspiring to take his inheritance and keep him as a featured doll in their museum. We see how he succumbs to the thoughts and feelings of being a girly doll, and how hard he fights against those sensations. Trapped in a box, restrained by the same plastic ties as a real doll, he can only stand there and accept it as visitors increase his humiliation with every comment. I think what I appreciated most about it is that Sheralyn never relents, never steps back from the concept, and never gives in to allow him a moment of release. It’s humiliating, frustrating, and extraordinarily erotic.

A pretty useless 18 year old boy has to live with his aunt. He ends up in one of the most erotically thrilling situations I can imagine. His aunt opens a doll museum and he is forced to replace a life-sized doll that he has broken, becoming a living doll. Visitors are informed that it is not a girl they are seeing but a boy named Richard who volunteered to be dressed in the silkiest and most girliest panties, petticoats, dresses and such and displayed for others to see. He is routinely injected with a supplement that increases his sensitivity 10 fold, allows erections, but prevents orgasm, leaving him with extreme, permanent and unquenchable arousal. His is a daily ordeal of intense, unimaginable pleasure from the panties, petticoats,dresses and the like coupled with the extreme humiliation of being displayed all day to visitors to the museum. Not only are the visitors often taunting him for being a sissy, they are able to interact with him by a three speed fan that will blow his dress and petticoats around, letting the visitors see his erection-tented panties and causing indescribable pleasure to him as the breeze or wind-blown garments slip and slide over his thighs and panties. Given the nature of the museum, most all of the visitors will be female, quite a few near his age. I can only imagine what it must be like for girls at or near my age, many of which I may think cute or pretty, seeing me like they see Richard.

Good but very short

The book has some very good tips and info on pointillism but it's very, very short. If it was a printed book, I'd say it was no more than 10 pages. I know it says vol 1, but I would think they could've got a lot more in.
